An Artistic Image

This tutorial is intended to be just a guide to manipulate with image with goal to make something different. Every image takes it own strategy, you will need to work in different way with different images and to use different settings and different composition. You are welcome to use my photo, click on the link on side bar to download. Have fun!

Open your image in PI, duplicate it twice and close the original. Position the images in way you see at least big part of them both. Select one of the images, go to Edit/Fill and fill with white. Now you have one image and one white canvas open in your workspace. Pick the Clone paintbrush (you can also use airbrush), my settings are size 155, Transparancy 73, Soft edge 85. Press and keep Shift key and click with mouse in your image, if you are using the same photo (recomended for first try), suggestion is to click on rose button. Select your white canvas and try to make a first touch approximetly in the same place as in original. Paint the all parts you want in your image, but leaving also a lot of qhite space along the edges of canvas. See the image below.

Return to original image. Go to Format/Hue and Saturation and push the Saturation slider down to 0. This will disaturate your image. With clone paintbrush (settings the same) click again on rose button. Make a spots just bellow the previous rose, repeat it one more time and make another button and edges as shown in the picture.

Go to original again, right click/select all, right click/convert to object. Click on transform tool and flip horizontally. Merge all. With clone paintbrush shift kay pressed click again on rose button and paint in your image like in image shown bellow. You can experiment here and make it to your liking.

Finally, pick up some of material from original image and copy (with clone paintbrush again) along the sides of image to cover them.

Go to Effects/Illumination/Lights and click on Options. Change the distance to 300% and speed to 37, press OK. Go to Effects/FM Tile Tools and apply Blend Emboss with default settings.

Go to Effects/Illumination/Creative Lightening/Light Bulb. Place the bulb in your red rose button with settings: Range 52, Strenght 55, Softness 19, Star spikes 10, Star size 13, Color red, Ambient light 100%. Click on + button to add another light bulb, use the same settings, but change color for yellow and place your bulb on black and white rose button next to red one, click ok. Thats all.
